Direct to Garment T-shirt Printing is Best Compared to Screen Printing

T-shirt Printing

Considered to be the best in the field of t-shirt printing is the DTG or the Direct to Garment that utilizes a large format inkjet printer compared to the screen printing which used inks in fabrics through a stencil. This is more concern on the environment, less time is used and that comes in lesser prices as well.

DTG t-shirt printing is more of the environment side than screen printing. This DTG utilizes a water based ink printed right away
on the t-shirt so that no ink will be wasted and that the only ink you can see as waste is on the head cleaning and you should also known that in head cleaning, only the ink is the external materials included. The head cleaning can be not done if regular maintenance is observed by the printer since a head clean everyday is enough. If the ink is disposed properly, printing t-shirts with the use of DTG technique does not affect the environment. Using the screen printing, a lot of ink will be wasted and if you will clean the stencil, the ink would also be washed.

The screen printing approach utilizes the creation of a stencil wherein the inks are printed on the shirt through this. The stencil is created through a photo or hand emulsion and in every needed color of the pattern; you have to make another one. DTG technique is using software and a computer to bring the design into the printer and this happens within second only. If the cloth used for printing is dark, then a white layer must be printed first prior to the remaining colors. This process only needs a lesser time in printing and that this is very significant if the printing involves small runs of t-shirts.

Comparing the screen printing and DTG printing, the latter is much lesser in the small runs of t-shirts for about 50. The minimal setup with DTG printing means that shirt runs as low as 1 can be made for matter of $5-$10 plus the shirt already and that on print on white can take for 2 minutes. The screen printers may say that they can be cheaper but considering the time needed and numerous colors, this seems to be not possible.

Printing t-shirts with the use direct to garment method is very effective than screen printing. Even though these two methods provide a great quality of printing, DTG is more environmentally friendly, less time is needed and that is very cheaper as well. Although the screen printing is tried and tested for its ability of printing, still DTG is the way that is look forward to happen.
